Fall Weather Leads to More Car Accidents

Posted on October 8, 2020 Personal Injury Lawyer

As the clocks move forward night time comes earlier. The fall season of rain and snow arrives, and with that, Washington State sees a dramatic uptick in the number of car accidents. Dried oil from the summer months is rained on, creating slick roadways and increased braking distance requirements. Unfortunately, this combined with reduced lighting and vision creates more dangerous driving conditions for Seattle, Tacoma, Puyallup, and the other areas in the state.

Fall & Winter Driving Conditions are Dangerous

The factors stated above, contribute to why the research shows that Washington is one of the most dangerous states in the country to drive in during the fall and winter months. We know as well as you do, that remaining home and avoiding the roadways is impossible, and thus many of us, including our team, will be out driving this fall and winter in these same conditions.

Extra Precautions for Safer Driving

We recommend allowing increased braking distance in front of drivers, and that drivers keep a watchful eye on what’s happening behind their vehicle. Safe driving is always a priority. Texting while driving causes several collisions each year, which is why our team of personal injury lawyers discourages our clients and friends from this activity. Turn off your phone notifications when you get in the car.

What to do if you get in a car accident

If you take all the precautions and are still involved in a car accident please give us a call or chat with us on our website. Each year, we handle thousands of car accident cases for the citizens of Washington State, making certain that all aspects of their personal injury cases and claims with insurance companies run as smoothly as they should.

We recommend against providing the insurance companies with recorded statements and descriptions of accidents without speaking to our office previously. We prefer to hold these in controlled environments, and more often than not, we are able to avoid them altogether. As always, the insurance companies will be building a case against the injured party to avoid fair payment of the victim’s personal injury case. Our job is to prevent just that, and achieve justice for you.

Give us a call if you’ve been a victim of the dreaded ‘accident season’ in Washington State. We can help. We offer free, meaningful consultations, and if you choose to hire us we work on contingency, meaning we only get paid when we win your case. Reach out to us today to discuss your options.
